This book is the third in a series about a futuristic world where death is distributed by scythes. After Endura sinks, there is scandal and chaos as the scythedom figures out how to rule themselves once again. When Greyson Tolliver finally reestablishes contact with the Thundercloud, all people have been marked as unsavory while he is the only one that can access the Thundercloud. Robert Goddard leads the new order of corrupted scythes while Citra and Rowan fight back. I liked this book because of the satisfactory ending, but I disliked the fact that it came to such a quick close. I wish there was more information on what happened to the scythes back on Earth, and some foreshadowing of if the Tonists ever made it to their new homes. Overall, this book was both heart-wrenching and simple in its detailed but matter-of-fact prose.
