The 57 Bus

This book is a truly thought-provoking discovery of the true moral boundaries of this world and how frayed those boundaries can become. Sasha, a non-binary white teen, rides the 57 bus to and from school every day while Richard, a cisgender black teen, also rides the bus occasionally. By coincidence, they intercepted each other, and both lives changed drastically. Sasha found their voice, and Richard found understanding. If for that mere few minutes, they had never met, their lives would have taken a completely different course. I loved this book because it really explored the nitty-gritty aspects of justice and perspective. This book explored every angle of the case, and it didn't leave any stone unturned. The author let me draw my own conclusion about who was really right or wrong. There is no clear answer to that question though, and there never will be.
