The book Tex is about a 15-year-old named Tex McCormick who lives on a farm with his older brother Mason. His best friends are his horse, Negrito, and Johnny Collins. Tex is in love with Johnny's little sister, Jamie. Tex is technically not allowed to be friends with the Collins, according to their dad, Cole Collins. Tex becomes troubled after his mother's death and father's leaving. Their father had been known to leave for long periods of time, but not this long. Tex has confident hopes that he will come back, but Mason is sure he won't and they just slipped his mind. Tex regretfully starts to believe Mason. When winter is just around the corner and money is tight for the McCormick brothers, Mason sells their horses without telling Tex. When Tex finds out he is outraged and determined to get his horse, his best friend, back. This book has fighting, romance, excitement, and adventure. This was a great book. I really enjoyed reading it and hope I will be able to watch the movie soon. I'd give this book 5/5 stars.
