Student Review: "Sweep: The Story of a Girl and her Monster," by Jonathan Auxier

Nan Sparrow is a sweep in London. She is eleven years old, and has to clean and gather soot from tiny spaced chimneys in order to make a life for herself. Her sweep left her one morning only leaving Nan with his hat and a small char. One day, Nan is caught in a chimney fire, and finds out that her char came to life and became Charlie, the soot golem. Nan and Charlie have adventures to escape the Mr. Crudd, Nan's former boss. I LOVE this book and would read it again several times.
