Student Review: "Soul Surfer," by Bethany Hamilton

Bethany Hamilton wrote a book about her life and how she has inspired people with what happened to her. She was 13 when she was surfing in Hawaii and a shark bit her entire left arm off. It was Halloween day, when Bethany Hamilton was rushed to the hospital and spent the next week undergoing surgeries, and treatments. She describes how hard it was to recover and re-learn to surf, her favorite pastime. She said how hundreds have been inspired by her story and how God helped her recover. Not only that, but she traveled to many countries to receive awards and give awards or give interviews, and constantly spoke about her faith in God. I liked this autobiography a lot, and would read this again.

This book was about a girl named Bethany Hamilton and her true story. She faced an accident that made her loose her whole arm but she still became a famous surfer. She got bitten by a shark by surfing and was put in the hospital for many days and had many surgeries. She never let her injury get in her way and kept doing what she loved: surfing. I really enjoyed this story from a surfer girl from Hawaii and how she handled it. I really liked this book and would definitely read this book again!
