Hinton

Rumble Fish is a book narrated in first person by the main character Rusty James. This book is about a boy in junior high who idolizes and wants to be just like his big brother, the Motorcycle Boy. The Motorcycle Boy is toughest and coolest guy in the neighborhood. Throughout the book, Rusty James tries to understand his brother and explore his relationship with him. Rusty James is trying to figure out what he should do with his life and what he's feeling. And when he doesn't know, he tries to feel good about himself by resorting to picking fights and hunting for action. I didn't think this was a very good book. It was really confusing and hard for me to follow, nothing like S.E. Hinton's previous two books, The Outsiders and That Was Then, This Is Now. I'd give it 2.5/5 stars.
