Never Caught

Never Caught is the story of Ona Judge, George and Martha Washington's slave. Ona was born into slavery and was the personal slave of Martha Washington. She was 22 when she ran away. She ran away at this time because Martha was about to give her away as a wedding gift to Eliza Custus Law, Martha's granddaughter, who was a terrible person. She got on a boat and ended up in New Hampshire. She married John Stains, and gave birth to three children; Nancy, Will, and Eliza. Her husband died, and Ona outlived her children. She died in 1848, at the age of 74. I liked this book.
