Laz Weathers is really good at pitching for his North Central High School baseball team. When his baseball team is shutdown, Mr. Thurman invites Laz to live with him and his family to go to a different high school to keep playing baseball. He says yes and is really good at pitching for the Laurelhurst team. He helps them get to the state champion ships but has to choose between pitching for his team or saving his half-brother's, Antonio's, life. He saves his brothers life and gets shot in the process. He gives up his chance for being drafted to a major league team by saving his brothers life. He does get drafted minor league team at the end. I liked the way it was written, but I didn't care for the storyline.

This book was about a teenager who loved to play baseball. He was a great pitcher. This story was about how he got better and how made it to the state nationals. His brother gets in trouble and in stead of going to the big game, he saved his brothers life. Then, he got promoted to the giants and is a great player. I did not really care for this book and would not want to read it again.
