Student Review: "Elmer and the Dragon," by Ruth Stiles Gannett

Elmer and the dragon is about Elmer Elevator and how he rescues a dragon. The dragon and Elmer travel to go back to Elmer's house and have trials to get there. One day, they land on a island and find out it is home to many canaries. All the canaries are under a plague of curiosity and Elmer tries to help them. Finally, the king of the canaries told Elmer what he was so curious about. He told Elmer that there was a chest buried and Elmer and the baby dragon helped each other to dig up the chest. They find the chest and give the treasures to the king and queen. Then the king gives Elmer a harmonica that was in the chest and gives the baby dragon a watch around his neck. Then the dragon and Elmer make it just in time for Elmer's fathers birthday! I loved this book because of all the adventures and all the great characters and I would definitely read it again!
