Anne Shirley's parents died when she was young, and has never had a real home with the two families that took her in before she had to go to the orphanage. Mathew and Marilla Cuthbert wanted a boy to help Mathew on the farm at Green Gables, but are surprised when they receive Anne, who is a girl. They learn to love her, and Anne befriends Diana and they have wonderful adventures together. Anne is studying hard in school and is doing her best to beat Gilbert Blythe, the smartest student in the school next to Anne, and worst enemy to her as well. Mathew dies, and Marilla is going blind so Anne decides that she will not go to collage to stay at Green Gables with Marilla and makes friends with Gilbert at last. I liked this book.
