96 Miles

John and Stewart are stuck at home when a massive power outage hits. There dad is out of town on a business trip, but they have plenty of food storage and water. That is, until it is stolen from them. All of it. They are literally scavenging water from a toilet to get water to drink (don't worry, they make the water drinkable by boiling it). The closest place they know of is Brighton Ranch were some of there friends live. It is 96 miles away and they must walk the whole way. They meet two more kids that need food so they tag along. Cleverly and Will are searching for food as well. They steal a truck from someone at the water reservoir and drive that until they run out of gas. John runs the rest of the way to the ranch and finds help for Stewart who is sick. They all get rescued and get food and water. I liked this book.

Review by Elliana G.

This book was about how two boys face a nation wide black out. They had plenty of food storage, but were robbed by people at gun point. They were forced to leave and drink toilet water and boiled it to get some source of water. They met two other kids and walked 96 miles to get to the nearest source of food and water at a ranch. Somehow, they made the trip successful without any of them dying. I really liked this book. It had a good story and I would listen to this book again!
