Unspeakable

Although this is a picture book intended for younger readers, I think middle school students could really get something out of this one. It shows Greenwood district in Tulsa prospering in the time leading up to the 1921 massacre, and isn't too gory in the details of the massacre itself. The illustrations are incredible.
