In this final book of the trilogy, Rowan and Citra are still out to stop the evil scythes from bringing terror to the masses. Scythe Goddard is named to lead the North Merica region, but he wants all the regions to be under his command. The Thunderhead has gone silent except for one man - Grayson Tolliver AKA The Toll. The Toll wants the world to go back to normal too’, but he has to await instructions from the Thunderhead. There’s a lot more death in this book than the other two, but I really enjoyed all the parallels to today’s society- a power hungry dictator, mass murders, underground resistance, and a quest to settle a new population on an alternate planet. I loved how Rowan and Citra grew throughout the trilogy. What a thought-provoking series from my favorite author!
