It took me a while to finish this one because my borrowing period from the library kept expiring before I'd finished it! :) This is a gory horror novel that teens will love. It has the impact of a scary movie because it is so vividly written.
In the town where Patrick and Chance Rains live, all the adults without warning begin acting murderous and threaten the lives of everyone in town. Anyone under the age of 18 is at risk of being taken by these adults, kidnapped at the expense of an alien race intent on taking over Earth. The kids who manage to evade capture meet up and barricade themselves in the school. They try to figure out what is happening to everyone and discover that there are spores in the air that turn people into pods for alien takeover as soon as their bodies reach the age of 18. Chance is terrified because Patrick is set to turn 18 in a few short days. How will he save him from becoming a pod person? How will they save the other kids who've been taken?
