High school student Xiomara Baptista has always secretly enjoyed writing. She has so many journals to pour her feelings into, but she has to hide her talent and her feelings from her very overprotective mother. Xiomara also secretly joins her school's slam poetry club, loving the way the words flow from her, letting her fiery spirit speak through poetry. But when her mother discovers her secrets, she does the unthinkable. I love Xiomara's passion and strength and would love to read more about her!
