In the latest Shusterman(s) world, addictions have taken on human personas and are eagerly controlling the lives of many people. One of those people is Ivy, a high school senior who has struggled with alcohol addiction (thanks to Al). But new to addiction is Isaac, Ivy's twin brother. He recently hurt his foot and started taking oxycodone to ease his pain (hello Roxy!). Roxy gets her hooks deep into Isaac though, when his pain is gone but he can't stop taking the pills. Ivy, on the other hand, is getting better because she's taking Adderall to help her focus (this is Addison's doing) and give her a chance at graduating. Addison and Roxy make a wager to see which one of them can take their twin to the VIP room (AKA death) first. Will it be Ivy, who starts abusing the Adderall by taking two or three at a time? Or will it be Isaac, tangling with oxycodone and doing all sorts of out of character things because of the drugs? One of them will NOT survive.
