Main storyline- Four stars... But all the cricket game playing and terminology was too much for this girl. I admit I had to gloss over a lot of the cricket games and practices. The story follows Carter Jones and his mother and siblings. His dad is deployed to Afghanistan, and he had a younger brother who passed away a few years earlier. Carter is twelve, about to start sixth grade, when a very proper gentleman shows up on their front porch. This man was Carter's grandfather's butler in London, but the grandfather has passed away and endowed the butler to Carter's family. Instilling Carter with more proper vocabulary and a new excitement for cricket, he also helps fill the void left by Carter's dad.
Mrs. Denney's Rating: ***
