Heartwrenching tale of a middle school girl whose best friend suddenly disappears and she can't get help finding her. No one else seems to care or worry that she's gone. The missing girl, Monday, has been gone for months while her best friend, Claudia, was away at her grandma's for the summer. Claudia thought it was really strange that she hadn't heard from Monday all summer, and when she returns home and calls Monday's number, all she gets is an out of order message. She sneaks over to Monday's house and her horrible mother tells Claudia that Monday has gone to her aunt's, but Monday's sister gives a different story and tells Claudia to stop snooping. Claudia is disoriented and upset that no one else seems to worry about Monday, but she does what she can to move on with her school year. Of course, as the truth starts to come out, Claudia realizes all along that her gut was right and that something unbelievable has happened to Monday.
