Fifteen-year-old Kenna's story begins with her being "Baker Acted" into a 72-hour involuntary commitment into a mental hospital. She was caught cutting in the school bathroom. Cutting or self-harm is not new to teenagers, but Kenna was sucked into this life by her friends who told her all about how it would make her feel. Now she can't stop. She's taken to a mental hospital where her roommate is also a cutter and a new friend, Skylar, deals with an eating disorder as well as cutting. Kenna doesn't think she has a real problem and that she can stop at anytime, but 72 hours away from the chance to cut or talk to her friends gives her lots of time to think. Can she stop, really? Or does she need help? Written in verse.
