Golden Arm

Laz Weathers is a pitcher with a golden arm. He’s got some hard knocks though, including the fact that his high school won’t have a baseball team during his senior year. Luckily, rules dictate that he can transfer to another school to play his sport so he transfers to another local school with a legendary coach who is set to retire at the end of the year. The school is hoping that with Laz’s help they’ll get that state championship they’ve dreamed of. Laz has other issues going on at home though. His younger brother has fallen in with a dangerous crowd and his family’s home neighborhood is set to be demolished to make room for condos. Laz tries to focus on baseball, but it’s hard with all the other things going on in his life.

A must read for baseball fans, but if you’re not a fan, you might get bogged down by the baseball details. There’s plenty of other story to keep you entertained though!
