Mimi LOVES science, especially space. It's 1969 and the US is about to have astronauts walking on the moon, and Mimi is thrilled. But, girls aren't supposed to be good at science - especially girls who look like Mimi. Her parents are black and Japanese, making Mimi look nothing like her Northeast classmates. But Mimi doesn't let that stop her from being herself. She is creative, smart, and stands up for herself even when it's hard.
Mrs. Denney's Rating: ***1/2
