Two brothers are home alone while their survivalist father is out of town, and the power goes off. Everywhere. The brothers aren't too concerned at first because they have a generator and a 6-month supply of food and water. But when the power doesn't come back on and people start to get desperate, the boys are robbed of their supplies at gunpoint. Left with no choice but to try to walk 96 miles to their dad's friend's home, the boys head out across Nevada on foot with only a canteen of water each. While scavenging for water, they come across two other kids also on foot and the four of them decide to make the trek together. With bad guys around and a desperate need to make it those 96 miles, the determined kids fight to survive in this action-packed novel.
