Student Review: "The Surrender Tree," by Margarita Engle

The Surrender Tree, a story written by Margarita Engle, is a very under rated book. I pick up this and could not put it down. It is about how Cuba(a island off the coast of Florida) struggled to get there independence. The book is about events during this time that actually happened. The characters are not real ,but it feels like the lived through it. The author great grandma lived through this. I rate it a 7 out of 10.
