Long Way Down

Wow. Just wow. Such a great concept that was executed beautifully by Jason Reynolds. When Will's older brother, Shawn, was shot and killed, he knows he has to live by the rules of the street - which means he has to get revenge and shoot the person who killed Shawn. He doesn't want to disappoint his mother and cause her more sadness, but that doesn't stop him from getting Shawn's gun and heading out. In the elevator, he has seven floors to descend and he is confronted by seven ghosts, all killed by gun violence. Will has to come to grips with what he's about to do, and run through the consequences of the choices he might make. Read this book! Highly recommended!
