When Tessa's father dies, she has to leave the life she's led in Florida for the past ten years with her grandmother and travel back to her small Pennsylvania home town. Her father was serving a lifetime sentence in prison for murdering a convenience store clerk during a robbery. Ten years earlier, Tessa and her friend sent a man to death row with their testimony that he had kidnapped and murdered Tessa's friend's cousin. Now that she's returning to town, new secrets are coming to light and the girls realize maybe they didn't see what they thought they saw. The girls work together to try to make sense of what happened ten years ago and also investigate new disturbing details about Tessa's long-lost sister and estranged mother. The book is a twisted thriller that teens will enjoy. It definitely has a surprising twist!
