The partners at Finley and Figg aren't really the best in the business. They're known for being ambulance chasers, and when Harvard grad and hard-working David Zinc drops in on their doorstep, they're anxious to put him to work. One partner has decided to file suit against a major pharmaceutical company for a cholesterol drug that he believes has killed 8 people. With zero experience in mass tort litigation, he grabs on to the coattails of a larger firm out of Florida to tackle the case. When the judge puts them on the fast track for trial and the larger firm backs out, the partners are left to see what they're made of. Luckily, David Zinc maintains his honesty and integrity and does other cases on his own time, including searching for a toy company that manufactured some Halloween teeth coated in toxic levels of lead. What a fun ride John Grisham brings his readers on with these three, and with a very strong and intelligent female litigator as their adversary.
