In August of 2005, a major hurricane swept through the low-lying city of New Orleans, breaching its levees and drowning the city for days on end. Thousands of residents had refused to evacuate, and thousands paid the ultimate price. When the government failed to properly and quickly handle the emergency response, people were left to drown, rot, starve, or dehydrate. This graphic novel represents the emergency the people faced and their resilience in the face of a nightmare.
